The Core Differentiation
What Makes LTC Dietitian™ Different
Excellent resident care comes first. Everything else — clinical reasoning, individualized interventions, clear documentation, and regulatory compliance — exists to support that care, not compete with it.
Resident Care + Regulatory Alignment
Every resource is built to support excellent, individualized resident care within the clinical and regulatory framework of long-term care.
The focus is on thorough assessment, sound clinical reasoning, individualized interventions, meaningful follow-up, and documentation that clearly demonstrates how the resident’s needs, preferences, risks, and goals are being addressed.
Clinical Expertise + Former Surveyor Insight
LTC Dietitian™ combines real-world long-term care dietetics with the regulatory perspective of a former state surveyor.
Resources help dietitians connect strong clinical practice with the documentation, communication, implementation, and follow-up surveyors evaluate when determining whether care is appropriate, individualized, and compliant.
Comprehensive Education + Practical Clinical Systems
From the Advanced Certificate in Long-Term Care Survey & Regulatory Compliance, to the R.I.S.E. Method™ clinical investigation systems, case scenarios, chart-audit tools, and documentation guidance, LTC Dietitian™ turns complex clinical and regulatory expectations into clear, practical processes dietitians can apply in everyday practice.
The result is stronger resident care, clearer documentation, improved regulatory compliance, and greater confidence before, during, and after survey.

The R.I.S.E. Method™ Weight Loss Investigation System
Unintended weight loss in long term care is rarely explained by one factor alone. This system helps dietitians move beyond a routine supplement order and conduct a thorough, resident centered investigation of the clinical, nutritional, functional, and environmental factors contributing to the change.
Using the R.I.S.E. framework, you will verify the weight concern, identify contributing factors, develop individualized interventions, strengthen interdisciplinary communication, and document the clinical reasoning behind the plan.
The workbook includes guided investigation tools, weight change validation resources, documentation prompts, chart audit support, follow up tools, and a repeatable process designed to support excellent resident care, regulatory expectations, and survey readiness.

The Pressure Injury System
The R.I.S.E. Method™ Pressure Injury Nutrition Investigation System
Pressure injuries require more than a routine protein recommendation. This system helps long term care dietitians conduct a thorough, resident centered nutrition investigation by reviewing nutritional status, intake, hydration, weight history, medical conditions, medications, functional status, preferences, and other relevant clinical factors.
Using the R.I.S.E. framework, you will identify contributing factors, develop individualized interventions, strengthen interdisciplinary communication, and document the clinical reasoning behind the nutrition plan.

MDS Section K & Malnutrition Coding Guide
A practical guide to help long-term care dietitians connect clinical assessment, supporting documentation, interdisciplinary communication, accurate coding, and regulatory expectations.

Former State Surveyor
Founder of LTC Dietitian™
Creator of The R.I.S.E. Method™
I created LTC Dietitian™ to help long-term care dietitians provide excellent, individualized resident care while confidently navigating clinical, documentation, regulatory, and survey expectations. With more than 25 years of long-term care experience—including work as a state surveyor—I understand both the clinical responsibilities of the dietitian and the standards used to evaluate care.
Through practical education, structured clinical systems, and real-world regulatory insight, I help dietitians strengthen clinical reasoning, improve documentation, communicate more effectively with the interdisciplinary team, and build practices that support both high-quality resident care and survey readiness.
On a personal note, I live in Deep East Texas with my husband of 29 years, whois a firefighter/paramedic. We have twins — our son is a pilot in the Marine Corps and our daughter is also a Registered Dietitian:).
We live in an old farmhouse with our chocolate lab, Bluebell. We also have a horse, donkey, and a few chickens, so there is always something going on around here. I love decorating, sitting on the front porch, and spending time with family.
